VI. Routes

The starting line, route and finish line are all located within Shanghai Disney Resort. Routes will extend across the Shanghai Disneyland theme park, Disneytown and areas around Wishing Star Lake. Detailed routes will be indicated on a route map released before the competition.

 

VII. Registration

· Time of registration: July 2, 2018 (10:00am) – August 3, 2018 (5:00pm) 

Registration is limited and will be closed when all quotas are filled.

 

· Registration fee: 10K or 5K run - RMB 349, 3.5K run - RMB 279

Note: Registration is complete upon receipt of payment. The registration fee does not include a Shanghai Disneyland Theme Park Ticket. If the participant plans to enter the park after the race, he/she needs to purchase a park ticket separately.  Please check the official registration website, the Shanghai Disney Resort WeChat account, text messages, and email notices for more information regarding park tickets, merchandise and food & beverage.

VIII. Participation

(I) Age and qualification criteria

· Participants in the 10K run must be over 16 years old as of September 16, 2018

· Participants in the 5K run must be over 16 years old as of September 15, 2018

· Participants in the 3.5K run must be over 5 years old as of September 15, 2018

All children between 5 and 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult of 18 years and older during the race.

Note: The legal guardian of all participants under 18 years old must agree to and sign the participation statement.  

(II) Participants must choose one of the three available routes (10K, 5K and 3.5K), depending on their physical condition and actual capability, and should not enter into any event beyond their own ability.

Participants with any of the following conditions should not participate in the 2018 Shanghai Disney Resort Disney Inspiration Run:

· A patient with congenital heart disease and/or rheumatic heart disease

· A patient with hypertensive and/or cerebrovascular disease

· A patient with myocarditis and/or other heart diseases

· A patient with coronary artery disease and/or with serious arrhythmia

· A diabetic patient with hyperglycemia and/or hypoglycemia

· A pregnant woman

· A patient who catches a cold within two weeks before the start of the competition

· A patient with any disease that may render him/her unsuitable for strenuous physical activities such as running

(III) Number of participations for the 2018 Shanghai Disney Resort Disney Inspiration Run:

· 10K: 5,000 participants

· 5K: 2,000 participants

· 3.5K: 3,000 participants

(IV) Each participant can only register for one event in each race day.

 

IX. Competition method

(I) This competition will be carried out in accordance with the latest track and field competition rules approved by the Chinese Athletics Association and the rules stated here within.

 

(II) During the competition, participants can wear the race apparel provided by Shanghai Disney Resort or dress up in their favorite Disney gear. The official bib number, provided by Shanghai Disney Resort, must be worn on the front of the torso and fully visible at all times. In order to ensure an accurate time, please do not fold or wrinkle the bib number or cover it with a jacket, runner belt, water bottle or any other item. To ensure safety, all run attire must adhere to the following rules. Clothing that drags the ground is prohibited. Bulky costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening. Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent. Political or religiously offensive costumes are not allowed. Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another participants. Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon. Masks may not be worn by participants age 16 or older, unless for medical purposes. Masks must be worn in a way that both eyes can be fully seen and with unobstructed vision at all times, allowing for clear peripheral lines of sight.

Shanghai Disney Resort reserves the right to deny admission or remove any person wearing inappropriate or indecent attire, or attire that could detract from the experience of other participants. Participants may be requested to modify their costume to meet the above mentioned rules. Shanghai Disney Resort reserves the right to cancel the eligibility of any participant as well as his/her rank and result if he/she violates any of the above mentioned rules.

 

(III) Check in: Participants will be checked-in for their respective competitions at starting point from 7:00am on the date of their event (either September 15 or 16, 2018).

 (IV) Start order:

· On the first day (September 15th, 2018), participants will be arranged into two groups; the first group will start the 5K run at 8:00am. The second group will start the 3.5K run at 8:15am

· On the second day (September 16th, 2018), participants competing in the 10K run will be arranged into two groups. The first group will start at 8:00am and the second group will start at 8:10am.  

 (V) Ranking for the10K and 5K will be recorded using the results registered by the timing chips (provided by Shanghai Disney Resort). No ranking will be recorded for the 3.5K.

(VI) Distance and track closing time

To ensure safety, a closing time will be set for each route. If any participant fails to finish the corresponding distance within the allotted time, the participant should immediately stop and safely leave the track in order to avoid posing a danger to themselves and others.

(VII) Shanghai Disney Resort will provide timing chips for the 10K and 5K runs. Participants must wear their designated bib number. If the results of any participant cannot be recorded as a result of failing to wear the bib number correctly, Shanghai Disney Resort will not be held responsible. The timing chips will start timing when participants cross the starting line. Throughout the race, participants must run past all the timing sensors. If a participant finishes the competition within the designated time but fails to register with every timing sensor, the participant will be excluded from the ranking. For more information, please see the instructions issued before the competition.

(VIII) Clothing storage services will be available for participants on site. The participant must affix their bib number tear-off to the clothing storage bag provided by Shanghai Disney Resort and leave it at the storage area at the starting point. After the competition, the participant may claim his/her clothing by showing his/her bib number to onsite staff before 11:00am. If the participant fails to claim his/her clothing within the allocated time, will be disposed of. Please do not store anything of value in the bag (for example, mobile phones, watches, credentials, cash, bank cards, keys, etc.).

(IX) Water stations and supply stations

In the 5K and 10K runs, water stations with drinking water and beverages will be available every 3 km. In the 3.5K run, water stations with drinking water and beverages will be available at the 2 km mark. Supply stations will be available at the finish line.

 (X) Shanghai Disney Resort will employ video monitoring at the starting line and finish line as well as along the route. Shanghai Disney Resort will nullify the results of participants in violation of the following terms:

· Enrolling with a false age or identification document

· Carrying two or more chips at the same time during the competition

· Finishing the competition by relay

· Running in a non-designated area

· Violating race rules during the race

· Refusing to listen to instructions given by race staff

· Failing to finish the competition along a specified route, taking a shortcut, or using a means of transport other than running

· Crossing the finish line without following the race requirements, or crossing the finish line without completing the race in order to collect articles and/or medals

· Forging a bib number, using bib numbers from other events or crossing the finish line without wearing your bib number or with a chip not used for this competition

· Altering your bib number or blocking a part of your bib number without permission

· Transferring bib numbers or chips

· Disobeying the instructions given by race staff, disturbing the competition, gathering a crowd to incite trouble, or getting into physical altercations

· Violating any of the race rules and regulations

In cases where someone becomes eligible to run as a result of providing false information, or taking another registrant’s bib number, he/she shall take sole responsibility for all consequences incurred in connection with the competition.

(XI) Successful applicants will not be able to withdraw their registration or change events. Transferring your bib number to another participant is not permitted. No refunds under any circumstances.   

 

X. Awards

· All participants finishing any of the running events will receive a special medal at the finish line.

· The first three men and women participants to finish the 10K will be awarded medals and souvenirs at a special awards ceremony.

· The first three men and women participants to finish the 5K run will be awarded medals and souvenirs at a special awards ceremony.

· The first 50 men and women participants to finish the 10K will be granted automatic entry to the 10K at the 2018 Shanghai International Marathon (while still need to pay for the registration fee and follow the participation rules of this race).

· The first 50 men and women participants to finish the 5K will be granted automatic entry to the Mini Marathon at the 2018 Shanghai International Marathon (while still need to pay for the registration fee and follow the participation rules of this race).

· Shangma Club runners who successfully finished the 10K or 5K race will receive 200 points.

 

XI. Insurance and medical aid

(I)  Shanghai Disney Resort provides insurance for all participants against personal accidents that may occur during the competition. If Shanghai Disney Resort cannot provide insurance for any participant or the insurance is invalidated due to incompleteness or inauthenticity of the registration information given by the participant involved, the participant involved will be held solely responsible.

(II) Fixed medical aid stations will be available at the start point and finish line as well as along the route. Clearly marked signs will be displayed 50m in front of medical aid stations; the competition organizers will post staff members at fixed medical aid stations and drinking stations to assist with medical aid and help maintain order. Participants may ask for help at any time if needed.

Special notes:

1. The insurance purchased by Shanghai Disney Resort is to be classified as personal accident insurance. However, any adverse effects resulting from pre-existing conditions will not be covered by the personal accident insurance. For example, heatstroke, fainting and other incidents will not be covered by the personal accident insurance purchased by the organization committee. Runners should consider their personal condition before applying to enter the competition.

2. Shanghai Disney Resort will provide emergency medical treatment on site free of charge during the competition. However, any expenses incurred for rescue and treatment at hospitals will be borne by the participant.

3. In the event of any personal injury or death during the competition resulting from the use of stimulants or any other illicit drugs, the participant involved will be held responsible.

4. To ensure the safety of participants, referees and staff members authorized by Shanghai Disney Resort will have the right to prevent any participant from continuing the competition if the participant involved is deemed unable to continue.
